about

For our first release of 2019 we welcome the pointillism inspired, augmented guitar enabled, electro-acoustic, rhythmic ambient soundscapes of Zoltan Fecso. These two tracks totalling just over 18 minutes are made all the more remarkable by the fact they were created live on his instrument (check this video for an insight - www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMrZlVR5XpA), rather than painstakingly sequenced whilst hunched in front of a computer screen for weeks. Silken Wave gradually reveals the meticulously crafted beauty of its pointillistic structure, slowly but surely warms you like a summer sunrise and leaves you with a similar feeling of wellbeing. Whilst undoubtedly sitting on the shoulders of the ambient legends & with an unintentional nod to Detroit’s most atmospheric creations, this is the sound of an artist getting comfortable in his own skin and being finally able to articulate his vision in eloquent and compelling fashion.

About Zoltan Fecso:
Zoltan is a Melbourne based musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist. Having studied classical piano from an early age he is now garnering a global reputation for his live performances on augmented guitar. This unique instrument, brought into the world with the assistance of bespoke guitar maker Ian Noyce, was conceived by Zoltan to allow him to fulfil his music vision. With the scene setting release Shimmer Raga last year on the excellent Hush Hush records out of Seattle, this new EP for The Slow Music Movement deepens the intrigue and leaves everyone hanging for the next chapter in what is sure to be a page turning career.
Not content with just increasing his recorded output, Zoltan also performs live and has given talks on music technology both in Australia and around Europe. He is about to become an artist in residence at Le Clos de Saman in France.

Artwork
Claire Lefebvre’s is an award winning Melbourne artist. With numerous exhibitions behind her, no stranger to the world of pointillism and being a constant creative inspiration for Zoltan it was natural for a piece from one of her works to accompany this release - thank you Claire. Check our her website for more information.

About The Slow Music Movement
The Slow Music Movement is an evolving organism with an ambitious evolutionary plan. It was launched in 2017 as a bi-weekly radio program & daily music recommendation service. From humble podcast beginnings the show is now broadcast on Radio Primavera Sound and Music for Dreams radio out of Copenhagen. Sharing is caring so we also run a daily music recommendation service with a focus on laid back, quality music from independent artists & labels that we’ve dug a bit deeper to discover which is then shared across the social media landscape.
